[Testimonial from a past Member]

I have had a wonderful 18 years as a member of the choir - it has been a real joy to sing such a wide repertoire with you - thank you for that and thank you to all my fellow choir members who have been so kind and supportive in recent years. Good luck and keep up the good work.

How You can Support the Society

Be Our Friend!

As a Friend, you will act as an advocate for the Society, telling others of the wonderful music we make in the magnificent setting of Durham Cathedral. We also hope that you will be active in making suggestions to help our organisation and administration, from the perspective of the audience.  As Friends, you will be encouraged to be active in the Social aspects of Society membership.

As a member of the Friends you will receive:

  • Automatic receipt of tickets to all three Concerts in any year

  • Priority seating in the front Nave of the Cathedral

  • Advance notice of the next Season's Concerts

  • Opportunity to buy a ticket for one guest (at normal rate) to accompany you in priority seating

  • Free programme

  • Escorted seating

  • Recognition as a supporter of the Society by your name being included in the Concert Programme

  • Opportunity to buy tickets to Annual Dinner and other Social events

All of this for just £30 a year. (Year runs from September to August).

Please contact the Friends' Secretary for more details.

Spreading the word

Members of the Society distribute posters to many areas around County Durham in advance of our concerts.  Coverage is not 100%.  If you would like to have some posters or handbills to advertise concerts, or have any ideas for extra publicity, please contact the Secretary.

We NEED Concert Stewards

To hold an event in Durham Cathedral requires a number of people who provide stewardship on the evening. Stewards meet at the Cathedral at 6.30pm, and you get to hear the concert for free!  Contact the Secretary for more details.
