Spreading the word
Members of the choir distribute posters to many areas around County Durham in advance of our concerts. Coverage is not 100%. If you would like to have some posters or handbills to advertise concerts, or have any ideas for extra publicity, please contact the secretary: sec@durhamchoralsociety.org.uk
Concert Stewards
To hold an event in Durham Cathedral requires a number of people who provide stewardship on the evening. Stewards meet at the Cathedral at 6.30pm, and you get to hear the concert for free!
Come to the Concert!
Tickets for the DCS concerts are available from members of the choir, via the secretary (D. Crookes, 9a Church Street, Durham DH1 3DG) or from the Durham Information Bureau (Millenium Square, Durham 0191 384 7641). They are divided into three price bands: the front nave, the rear nave and font, the side aisles and transepts (£15.00, £9.00, £6.00), and concessions are available (under 16s half price; students and unwaged £2 discount). The Cathedral is accessible to those with mobility problems. It is however a medieval building so you may wish to bring warm clothing and a cushion!
